A wet pipe sprinkler system uses automatic sprinklers attached to a piping system filled with water. The system is connected to a water supply so that water releases immediately from sprinklers once it is activated by heat from a fire. A wet fire sprinkler system has water in the piping and therefore is only used in areas where the ambient temperature is above 32˚F. In some cases where partial piping is exposed to freezing temperatures, such as a small loading dock, an antifreeze loop can be used.
